THE SHORT
VERSION
Well, I tried to keep it short, but...
As I told you earlier, I have been in the
office management and bookkeeping business for over 20 years, and I
truly love what I do. Born in California, my dad
"transplanted" the family to Florida when I was 12 years old,
and I began my career in administrative assistance there at the age of
18. My first husband and I moved to Louisiana where I was lucky
enough to find my niche in bookkeeping and management with a large heavy
equipment contractor. There I worked under a CPA who taught me
accounting the "old" way - with pen and ledger. It was a
lot different back then, before everything became computerized. I
was with this contractor for several years, and by the time I left, we
were of course, computerized.
After my divorce, I returned to South Florida
for a short time where I worked for a motor home dealership as the
finance and insurance manager. I really did not care much for
South Florida and found myself increasingly homesick, so I returned to
Louisiana where I met the wonderful man I am now married to. His
name is Johnny and he is in the fast food business, KFC. We
relocated to Northwest Louisiana where he was a regional manager for a
KFC franchisee, and I was able to go to work for a wonderful husband and
wife team who owned 5 auto parts stores. I handled all the
bookkeeping procedures for the 5 locations, as well as all of the
inventory records. I had been with this company for 8 years when
they sold the business to a national auto parts chain and I was thrown
into the large corporate arena. I was able to maintain my position
as office manager and also learned the sales counter in the 3 years that
I remained there.
In 1996, Johnny was transferred to Northeast
Mississippi. I was also able to transfer within my company, but in
the much more advantageous position of store manager. I am proud
to say that I was one of the very few female managers within that
organization, and that I even won a few awards during my tenure. I
did a little bit of everything in that position, so I really do
understand how stressful and time consuming it can be to operate a
successful business. Those 14 and 15 hour workdays can really take
a toll. After 5 years, I finally decided that if I was going to
work that long and that hard, I needed to be doing it for myself.
And so, here I am, putting my skills and expertise to work to help you
grow your business, while at the same time, I am able to grow my own
business. I don't think it gets any better than this.
Johnny and I have recently returned to his home
town of Lexington, KY to live. We have wanted to come home for
several years but been unable to because of employment issues.
Unfortunately, Johnny has had some health problems for the past few
years, and has now had to go on disability. So, we decided that
the time had come to make our move. It is wonderful to be with
family and friends again and the countryside is absolutely gorgeous.
We just love it up here.
We don't have any children, but we do have 2
little "babies". A 15 year-old Shih-tzu named Nick, and
a 1 year-old Maltese named Francesca (Frankie). As you can
imagine, they are both spoiled rotten, but we wouldn't take anything in
the world for them. In my spare time, I love to read, cook,
cross-stitch and work crossword puzzles. I try to do a little
gardening, but I definitely do not have a green thumb. As hard as
I try, most of what I plant seems to turn brown and die. Thank
goodness, I no longer have a big yard to worry about.

will be happy to discuss any and all issues with you, as well as provide
